Meditative, imagistic, and deeply humane, this collection is a poignant exploration of what it means to love, to lose, to reshape our lives, and to continue.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Gopikrishnan Kottoor’s  literary  honours include multiple All India British Council Poetry Competition prizes (1995, 1997, 1998, 2017), the Delhi Grand Slam awards and mentions (2020, 2024, 2025, 2026),The  Chandigarh Literary Festival  Competition prizes (2022, 2023), among others. He was awarded  the Kala Samman for his translation of ‘Ramanan’ from Malayalam into English  in 2026.  He founded  Poetry Chain, which has a pan-Indian presence. He had the privilege of being ‘Guest of India’  at the University of Vienna, Austria and  was  an invitee to the Tagore Centre, Berlin, Germany,  to read his poetry. He was awarded the Augsburg Poetry Residency at the University of Augsburg, Germany, where his poem Father Wake Us in Passing was translated into German and presented across colleges in Germany . He was selected for MFA, Poetry, in Southwest Texas State University, Texas, USA. His poetry  appears in anthologies as The  Penguin RH  Anthology on   Indian Cities, Verse (Seattle), Best Asian Poetry, Bloodaxe Contemporary Indian Poetry, Fulcrum, and  SahityaAkademi among various. He has published his poetry in  major international  and Indian journals. His oeuvre includes  novels, plays, translations, and edited anthologies. A former General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India, he lives in Kerala.
