ABOUT THE BOOK
Solomon Northup, a diligent farmer and skilled violinist, is born a free man of color. Residing contentedly with his family in Saratoga County, New York, his life takes a drastic turn when a job offer at a circus becomes a treacherous trap. Deceived, drugged, and abducted, Northup is sold into slavery. Over the ensuing twelve years, he endures the hardships of bondage under various masters. His poignant memoir, "Twelve Years a Slave," vividly recounts his struggle for survival and freedom, standing as one of the most compelling slave narratives ever penned.
