Global development financing is no more western dominated under Bretton woods system rather the paradigm shifted to non-western world with the creation of New Development Bank (NDB) by BRICS Countries. The objective of this book is to understand BRICS economic vision, trace the genesis of New Development Bank and its uniqueness being a Multilateral Development Bank. In addition, the book throws light on NDB’s geo-economic aspects like capital structure, membership, governance mechanism, project approvals, disbursements, compare its 2017-2021 strategy vs accomplishment. The book made an in-depth view on NDB’s commitment vs. achievement on SDG and highlights its relationship with other western dominated multilateral development banks. This book not only examines NDB but also makes a comparative analysis with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) created by China. Both NDB and AIIB started operations around the same time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Chandan Mohanty is a Banking Professional with over 14 years of experience in credit, branch banking, product development & training. He is currently working as an AVP (Credit Risk Management) with Yes Bank Ltd. Dr Mohanty holds Ph.D. degree in Management from Sri Sri University, PGDM in Banking, Finance and International Business. He is a certified associate of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (CAIIB) and Climate Risk &Sustainable Finance certified from IIBF in collaboration with IFC. His research interest includes Banking, Development finance, Sustainable finance, International Business, Financial inclusion etc. He has published many research papers, contributed chapters to books and also presented number of papers in National and International conferences.
