ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Roshni Alphanso is an academician and researcher in the discipline of Social Work, presently serving as Assistant Professor at the College of Social Work (Empowered Autonomous), Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai. She earned her doctoral degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, a premier institution recognized for its leadership in social science scholarship and praxis in India.

Her doctoral research, “Nutritional Status of Warli (Adivasi) Women in Palghar District: A Socio-Cultural Analysis,” brought forward the voices of Warli women, highlighting how culture, gender, poverty, and structural inequality intersect to shape nutritional outcomes.

Her academic contributions include research articles, book chapters, conference presentations at national and international forums, and four research projects. She has also been honoured with two Minor Research Awards from the University of Mumbai and the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), recognizing the relevance and impact of her research.
